How it all began
I’ve always loved photography.
Growing up, I spent a lot of time looking through photo albums and watching home movies my mom recorded. It’s still one of my favorite pastimes. I notice not only the people in them, but everything else: the clothes, the things in the background, the toy you forgot you had - like stepping into a time machine. Little details that bring back pieces of memories our brains have quietly filed away over time.
In my early teens, I started gravitating toward photography most on the days I spent at the barn. I “borrowed” my mom’s camera 24/7 for about two years before she got me my own for Christmas in 2014. Thanks, Mom <3
I taught myself as much as I could. How to work my camera, understand light, edit in Lightroom and Photoshop, and adapt quickly when practicing on horse shows. I joined the photo club at school, where I learned studio photography, started photographing humans on foot rather than horseback, and filled in a lot of the basics I had somehow missed while teaching myself through YouTube at 13 years old.
Flash forward 14 years and 75,000 photos later
Fun facts about me :)
My family is full of musicians! I started guitar lessons in the 3rd grade and just started piano lessons last December. I highly recommend learning a new instrument in your 20's!
